Prepare for an excellent celebration of food, drink, art and music from in and around Wales in the medieval town of Conwy.
The spectacular Conwy quayside is set to play centre stage to the largest food festival in North Wales that combines supreme quality, local and home-made foods with spectacular sights, sounds, events and entertainment presenting you with the ultimate family day out this month – whether you are local, or are staying in a bed and breakfast Conwy.
The two days and three nights of music, art and food takes place from Friday evening (25th October) across the weekend until Sunday (27th October). Arguably the highlight of the Autumn event calendar in North Wales, the occasion is certainly not there to be missed!
The feast and festival is set to welcome 150 food stalls, an outdoor market, busy beer tent and the popular feast cocktail and champagne bar – with ingredients all produced locally. The festival coincides with the start of the beginning of Conwy’s mussel season, making it the perfect time to try Conwy’s famous and highly prized molluscs that are renowned for their distinctive flavour. Still gathered in the traditional method whereby they are hand raked from small wooden boats in Conwy estuary, you will be enjoying a spectacular mollusc.
Aside from the evening entertainment such as the live music, Wales’ acclaimed Digital Art Festival will also be running, which is unique and jaw-dropping through its use of modern technology combined with medieval structures.
Highlights and things to look out for include Trees, Bees and Farming marquee, live animals from the farmyard, instructional and guidance how to go about growing your own fruits and vegetables, Incredible Edible Conwy – the launch, range of live bands, quayside beer marquee, some of the finest chefs to come out of Wales and of course a plethora of gorgeous foods. Don’t forget your shopping bags and your appetite this year at the Gwledd Conwy Feast.
Located just a short drive away from the Groes Inn Bed and Breakfast Conwy, this event is perfect for anyone thinking of visiting the area on this special weekend. Tickets are available online via the event website, and also on the gate from Friday evening.
